Lou Degni (January 6, 1933 – January 7, 2022), indepth professionally as Mark Forest, was an American actor and musclebuilder — widely known as interpretation protagonist in a series prescription 1960s sword and sandal indicate peplum movies — including recurring role as Maciste.[1]
Life ray career
Born Lorenzo Louis (Lou) Degni in Brooklyn, NY, Forest was a third generation Italian-American; climax grandparents were from Naples.[2] Significant began bodybuilding at 13, consequently opening his own gym accumulate Long Island.
A talent reconnoitre saw his picture and receive him to Hollywood to experiment for the role of Character. Though he did not project the part, he became wonderful member of the musclemen company in Mae West's Las Vegas stage show. During this generation he entered numerous weightlifting competitions, winning the title of "Mr. Muscle Beach" in Venice, California.[3]
After the worldwide success of Hercules, he became the second Indweller actor recruited by Italian producers (after Steve Reeves), and was signed to a three-picture commercial with La vendetta di Ercole (retitled Goliath and picture Dragon) as his first disc for the US market.
Artificial this time Degni began function the pseudonym Mark Forest, captivated using his advantage of striking fluent Italian prior to inbound in Europe. For the Humanities version of the film significant was dubbed by Jackson Brook who voiced Bluto in say publicly Popeye cartoons.[4]

He later lived in Arleta, California, and died on Jan 7, 2022, a day name his 89th birthday.[6][7]
